BOWLS: Rene and Pete crowned Jubilee Park club singles champs
The men played for the Sharpe Cup and the ladies for the John Legate Cup.
All players played three different games totally 24 ends in all, using three woods, with nine ladies and 11 men taking part on a sunny Thursday afternoon

Hide AdWinner of the ladies’ was Rene Mathews, with Diane Turner finishing as runner-up. The men’s was won by Pete Frost, ahead of Alf Herrick.
Special thanks went to Cath and Frank Manley who organised the competition and all those who helped out on the day.
The East Lindsey District Pairs competition at Jubilee Park saw 32 pairs entered on Saturday.
Winners were Harry Spencer and Terry Ingham (from Sleaford and Cranwell) with eight points and 27 shots.

Hide AdRunners-up were Neville Thorpe and Tony Stanley (Billingborough) with seven points and 14 shots.
Thanks went to Kath and Frank Manley who organised the competition for JPBC, a job well done. Also thanks to all the members who helped with teas and food, raffle, tombola, bric-a-brac stall and homemade marmalades and jams.
JPBC took on Castle in a Friendly League North Division match at home.
A beautiful, sunny afternoon saw JPBC win on two rinks, with Roy and Angie Crampton and Bob Scott triumphing 20 points to 14, and Dave Dobbs, Joan Herrick and Hazel Bolton beat them 20-15, exacting a four points to two victory.

Hide AdHazel, the team captain, was absolutely euphoric. Well done to everyone who played.
JPBC won one rink 20-11 in a Coningsby League Division Three evening match at Stickney.
In a great game, Alf, Pete and Frank were neck and neck with their opponents up to end 14 when they romped ahead.
But JPBC lost two rinks 11-24 and 13-20, resulting in a six points to two defeat.

Hide AdForthcoming events at the club include the Ted Dennis Cup club singles competition next Thursday (July 7), the 1940s weekend on July 16 and 17, the ELDC Triples competition on July 23, and the Bill Yates Cup club singles competition on July 28.
Friendly roll-up games take place every Monday and Thursday, 2pm-4pm, and on Sundays, 10am-noon.
Newcomers are welcome to go along and have a go. Coaching can be provided.
