Worksop: Talented young dancers return home with 1st place trophies after taking Blackpool stage by storm
Rebecca’s Dance Studios have rehearsed for months for their biggest event of the year, the Association of American Dancing Awards, held in the prestigious Blackpool Opera House on November 22.
Competing against entries from troupes across the country, the Under 9s babes troupe won their section with ‘Come Follow The Band’ and the Junior troupe won with a poignant tribute to ‘30 Years of Les Miserables’.

On what was a huge weekend of dance in Blackpool, with Strictly Come Dancing performing at The Tower, the local girls did not let it phase them and were over the moon to return home with two 1st place trophies.
Principal of the school, Rebecca Doona, said: “I am so proud of every single dancer that competed.
“There is so much negative press about young people, but these girls have proved that if you work hard as a team, you can go on to achieve amazing things.

“Blackpool Opera House is one of the largest theatres in Europe and the dancers, particularly the youngest, did extremely well to perform in front of thousands of people.
“When we won both sections the dancers’ parents and families erupted in applause and have been buzzing on cloud nine ever since.”
And there’s no rest for Rebecca’s Dance School, whose studios are based within the Carlton-in-Lindrick Civic Centre.
