New brand of fake cigarettes seized during raid
Labelled ‘Black Mount’, the cigarettes, known as ‘illicit whites’, were found on a raid by Lincolnshire Trading Standards and Lincolnshire Police at the end of last year.
Black Mount cannot be sold legally anywhere and are manufactured purely for the black market.

Dan Brown, senior trading standards officer at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “This is the first time we have seen this brand in Lincolnshire.
“It is a brand purely manufactured for the black market and is made to be smuggled. Because of that, there is no quality control.
“We know that the people who are selling them have no interest in what they are selling or who they are selling to.

Also, as they are unregulated – you just don’t know what chemicals and components are inside them – so goodness knows what impact they will have on your body.”
