Modern take on The Bard's play
Shifting Sands present The King Lear with some notable changes, including the play taking place in a pub.
Artistic director Gerry Flanagan said: “I am delighted to be able to retell this classic. It’s one of my favourites. Being able to tour The King Lear is very exciting.”

Hide AdThe story follows landlord Mr Lear announcing his retirement and the division of his kingdom between his daughters.
A spokesman from Shifting Sands said: “Hilarious and heart breaking, The King Lear will unfold using physical theatre, clowning and vibrant storytelling all linked by Shakespeare’s magnificent text.”
Tickets for the show are priced at £9 for adults and £6.50 for children under 16.
