Ex-mayor's frustration over the state of Caistor town signs
John Burns-Salmond - who was mayor of Caistor from 2009 until 2013 - has sent a letter to the town council saying he was “disappointed” to see the areas around the town sign in “such a state”.
His letter, read out by town clerk Helen Pitman at Caistor Town Council’s monthly meeting at the town hall on February 11, said he was aware Caistor in Bloom had been struggling to complete and maintain all the projects that had been started over the years.

Mr Burns-Salmond offered to help the In Bloom group and suggested sustainable planting to reduce work in future years.
Coun Deborah Barker, who is also chairman of Caistor in Bloom, told the meeting: “We’ve discussed this with one of our members who is going to deal with it.
“We’ve had this problem before.”
Coun Barker said the group had spoken with Mr Burns-Salmond and they were working with him.
Councillors were satisfied with the actions that have been taken.
