Pegasus flying high after Ofsted report
Although the provision at Osgodby meeting children’s needs and the contribution it makes to their well-being were deemed ‘good’ at the inspection last May, failure to submit forms relating to members of the committee electronically to Ofsted had resulted in the lower grade being applied.
Now, with the forms submitted, the re-inspection has seen the setting graded as Good with aspects of excellence.

“With this new report, the quality of our setting has been properly recognised on paper.
“We are delighted with this report”.
Mrs Ashley was praised by the inspector for leading a strong and committed staff team.
The teaching was again described as good, with ‘effective assessment and monitoring procedures in place to ensure children are achieving in line with their expected levels of development’.

The report went on to say: “Staff respect children as individuals and treat them with warmth and kindness” and that children “..show that they feel comfortable and secure in the nursery”.
Partnerships with parents were described as ‘excellent’ and staff were praised for encouraging parents to get involved with their children’s learning by providing home learning ideas.
“We do have a very good parent partnership here,” added Mrs Ashley.

“We also have very good links with Osgodby Primary School, which helps with the transition to school, and we do a number of events together throughout the year.”
